I'm home...it's been a long day, week, month, YEAR! It's a little less than 24 hours before I take off to the Motherland and reality is finally starting to set in: I'm going clear across the world ALONE and I couldn't be more excited!
But first things first: PACK! Since I will be going between three different regions in Ghana (Accra, Cape Coast and Kumasi) on crowded public transportation with dozens of other people, I want to keep it light. So tonight's goal is to fill up this bag with two weeks worth of clothes, toiletries and necessities and try to keep it all under 50 pounds. As I always say "I am my mama's child" so I will certainly get it done. Plus, I'm up for the challenge because I'm not trying to give United Airlines anymore money than I already have. So off I go to pack my little heart out -- pray I don't give up and pass out on the warm and comfy bed to the left of this bag.
Thanks for going on this journey with me ya'll! I will definitely keep you posted about my amazing adventure on the Metro and bus as I make my way to Dulles airport in 30 degrees and snow showers with no coat on.
Africa, I clearly love you because I'm risking hypothermia to get to you.
