Around the World in a Day

Today has been such a rush. Well, actually, I didn't sleep last night soooo...YESTERDAY was such a rush!

I got a massage, ran errands, dropped the pups over to my mom's, met cleaning ladies at my house (my uncle and his family are staying at my house while I'm away so I had to outsource a few things), finished packing, researched more on my trip, booked Super Shuttle over there, picked up mama and off to the airport we went at 4 a.m. (thanks mama).

For those who I haven't told, I'm heading off on a European adventure in t-minus-8 hours. First stop, New York City. Ummm, wait, that's not in Europe.

I know, I know folks. But for a few reasons this was a natural first stop on my world tour. First reason, my fantastic team is in New York and I wanted to surprise them (shout out to Q for keeping my secret). Second, direct flights to Europe from NYC are more plentiful (read: I got a good deal on the flight). Third, my company is having an awards program and holiday party tonight. I mean, who doesn't want to tell the tale of going to NYC to party at a Manhattan nightclub and then jetting off to Paris hours later?! And last (and this was a surprise to me), my company paid for our team to get makeovers before the awards and party. So I got a fresh new hairstyle and my face is gorgeous! Best pit stop to Europe ever!

So around midnight, I'll be off to Paris. Not only am I going to Paris, I'm going solo (I promised my mom that I would not bring back another husband as a souvenir from foreign travels...been there, done that, got the divorce papers). After Paris for a few days, then off to Rome and finally to Stockholm.

Within the next 24 hours, I will have gone from the suburbs of Dallas, to Manhattan to the streets of Paris. Whew, are my feet tired!

Until then, I'll be crossing my fingers that my team sweeps all the awards and that my feet don't fail me as I attempt to dance all night until my plane takes off.

Alright folks, thanks for coming along this adventure with me. I'll try to come back to the blog each day and share my daily experiences with photos and other funny stories

Until next time, au revoir (that means "peace out" in French!)

P.S. Did I mention that somewhere between Dallas and NYC I lost my voice? Yep, lost it. I think I'll blame it on American Airlines. Let's see how being in a foreign country without a voice goes...looks like finding that Google Translate app is about to pay off quickly.

Me and this guy on the road again. Bag don't fail me now!
We'll call this the "pre-makeover, post-voice loss, just landed in NYC" photo!
Quyen, me and Tessie giving GLAM after our makeovers!
Tessie, me and Jamie serving up fierceness!
Got photobombed...Tessie is clearly so excited about my new do!
My new do from the back...there are at least 75 bobby pins in here. How much you wanna bet I get pulled to the side at TSA for having a hair bomb?!
